Rosario + Vampire author Ikeda Akihisa (a.k.a. Akissa Saiké) confirmed in a tweet showing some progress on the next chapter that his manga, Ghost Girl, will resume publication on October 30 after going on hiatus due to health issues in May 2022. The manga began serialization on July 13, 2020, six years after the conclusion of Rosario + Vampire: Season II, on Shueisha‘s Shounen Jump+ website, and has reached four tankoubon volumes. The series is also available in English on MANGA Plus, with pages edited for left-to-right reading at Ikeda’s request.
Masses of evil spirits break containment and pour out into the human world from the underworld. While this happens, Chloé Love, a 28-year-old actress who spent her childhood in a slum, struggles to find any worthwhile work after starring in a niche movie that flopped hard and ends up caught in the chaos when one of the spirits possesses the producer interviewing her. She is saved in the nick of time by Kai Iod, an underworld emissary who is a big fan of her work and was sent to contain the invasion. Kai reveals that Chloé was attacked by those spirits for her latent potential as a spirit medium. When she accepts to let Kai possess her and become a powerful weapon in her hands, easily defeating the evil spirits targeting her, he offers her to team up and save both the human world and the underworld, giving her the spotlight she wanted all her life.
