Manga author Toyota Yuu announced on their Twitter account that a new manga series titled Naraku no Hoshi (Star of the Abyss) will debut on Square Enix’s Gangan pixiv website on December 28th, 2024. The manga’s first tankoubon volume will be released on January 21st, 2025.

Toyota is well known for the 30-sai made Doutei da to Mahou Tsukai ni Nareru Rashii (Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!) romance manga series, which began serialization in 2018 on Pixiv’s Gangan Pixiv service. Square Enix licensed the manga and published the 14th volume in April 2024. The 15th volume will be released on January 21st, 2025.
The 30-sai made Doutei da to Mahou Tsukai ni Nareru Rashii (Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!) manga inspired a TV anime in January 2024, which can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
It also inspired a Japanese live-action series that premiered in October 2020 in Japan and a Thai live-action series that premiered in December 2023. The Japanese series received a live-action movie sequel that premiered in Japan in April 2022.
