Kadokawa has released a teaser promotional video and teaser visual for the Awajima Hyakkei TV anime, and it confirmed that the show will premiere in 2026. The anime’s official website has also confirmed that Asaka Morio will direct the anime at Madhouse studios

The anime is based on the Awajima Hyakkei manga by Shimura Takako, and in celebration of the anime news, Shimura released the illustration below.

Author Shimura (Dounika Naru Hibi, Hourou Musuko, Aoi Hana) started the manga in July 2011 on Ohta Publishing’s PocoPoco website, and in July 2016, the manga moved to Ohta Web Comic. After two long-term hiatuses, the manga ended in March 2024. Ohta Publishing released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2015 and the fifth and final volume in May 2024.
