The official website for the Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun (Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent/ メガネ、時々、ヤンキーくん ) TV anime revealed a new teaser promotional video and two new visuals. It also confirmed that the anime will premiere in 2027 on Japanese TV and that Hoshino Mokoto is directing the anime at Studio Flad and Wao World.

The anime is based on the Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun manga by Naruki, who started the romance manga in January 2021 in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine. Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2021, and the 11th volume in May 2026.
Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English under the name Glasses With a Chance of Delinquent, and it will publish the manga’s eighth volume on October 20th, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga story below:
“Momose has always longed for a peaceful high school life. She wants nothing to do with hoodlums, delinquents, or troublemakers. When she meets Ichikura, an inconspicuous black-haired boy with glasses, he looks like a normal, nice guy. But it turns out that back in junior high he was a nefarious delinquent!
He keeps assuring her that he’s changed his ways, but he’s still pretty quick to pick fights! Has Ichikura really turned over a new leaf? And will Momose keep quiet about his rowdy past?”
