NHK has announced that the Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition/ 魔入りました！入間くん if Episode of 魔フィア) manga by hiroja has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation, which will premiere in January 2027. NHK also released a teaser visual for the anime.

The manga is a spinoff of Nishi Osamu’s Mairimashita! Iruma-kun (魔入りました！入間くん) manga series. Nishi started the original manga in March 2017 in the Weekly Shonen Champion magazine, and Akita Shoten published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in July 2017. The manga’s 47th volume will be released on February 6th, 2026.
Hiroja started the spinoff manga, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia, in September 2023, in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shounen Champion magazine. The manga then moved to Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in December 2025. Akita Shoten published the manga’s first volume in December 2023, and it will release the manga’s seventh volume on February 6th, 2026.
Both the original Mairimashita! Iruma-kun manga and the Mairimashita! Iruma-kun if Episode of Mafia spinoff manga are released in English by Kodansha USA Publishing under the name Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition and Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition, respectivly.
Kodansha USA will release the third volume of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: IruMafia Edition manga on February 17th, 2026, and it describes the manga’s story below:
“Iruma-kun, the mob boss?!
In this brand-new spinoff of the runaway hit series, Iruma is a dirt-poor but kind young boy who grows up in a ruthless city slum. One day, Iruma gives a severely injured old man his last loaf of bread and nurses the stranger back to health—only to find out that the elder gent is none other than Don Sullivan, leader of the Babel Mafia! Soon after, Don Sullivan comes back, whisks Iruma away, and begs the boy to become his grandson. And just like that, the curtains rise on Iruma’s chaotic new life as the next in line to a gigantic gang of—dare we say—demonic mafiosos!”
The original Mairimashita! Iruma-kun manga was adapted into an anime, which premiered in October 2019, with a second season in April 2021 and a third season in October 2022. The anime’s fourth season will premiere in April 2026.
