The anime will also air on the Tokyo MX, BS NTV and Kansai TV channels on April 9th at a later time. Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide as it airs, excluding Japan and mainland China.

Tanaka Takayuki is directing the anime at Jumondo studios, and the anime will star Suzushiro Sayumi as Serafina de Lavillant, Inomata Satoshi as Veor, Hishikawa Hana as Cersei and Toyosaki Aki as Alyssa Marsius.
The anime was initially scheduled for release in October 2025, but it was delayed to April 2026. Staff for the show cited plans to improve the quality of the work as the reason for the delay.
The anime is based on Hime Kishi wa Barbaroi no Yome (The Barbarian’s Bride) manga by Kotoba Noriaki. Kotoba started the ongoing manga in January 2021 in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2021 and the 10th volume in October 2025.

Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English under the name The Barbarian’s Bride, and it will release the sixth volume on March 24th, 2026. It describes the story below:
“Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest female knight in the West, was sent to subjugate the barbaric tribes of the East. But when her mission fails spectacularly, she’s captured alive and imprisoned. Humiliated and dreading what horrific torture she’ll endure, she asks to be put to death. To her surprise, rather than tearing her limb from limb, the tribe leader asks for her hand…in marriage! Will Serafina face a cruel and abusive arranged marriage? Or will she discover that these tribes aren’t as barbaric as she was led to believe?”
