HERO’S INC’s Comiplex manga website published the final chapter of the GTU: Ikari no Death Yamada (Great Teacher Uchiyamada: Fury of Death Yamada) manga by Fujisawa Tohru on January 16th, 2026.
Fujisawa (Great Teacher Onizuka, Kamen Teacher, Rose Hip Rose, Soul Reviver, Ino-Head Gargoyle) started the manga in October 2024 on HERO’S INC’s Comiplex manga website, and HERO’S INC published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2025 and the second in October 2025. The manga’s third volume will be released on March 5th, 2026.
The story follows Uchiyamada Hiroshi, who works as the vice principal at Tokyo Kissho Gakuen. Uchiyamada is a middle-management teacher who is caught between his subordinates and his students. One summer day, Uchiyamada visits Kabukicho in search of Nanami, a student who has run away from home. This is the beginning of the grand nightmare that will befall him!
The manga is a spinoff of Fujisawa’s Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO/ 麻辣教師GTO) manga. Fujisawa started the original Great Teacher Onizuka manga in 1997, and Kodansha published the manga’s first volume in May 1997 and the 25th volume in April 2002.
Since the end of the original manga, Fujisawa has created several spin-off manga series, including Great Teacher Onizuka: Shonan 14 Days in 2009, Great Transporter Ryuji (GT-R) in 2012, and GTO: Paradise Lost in 2014. Due to the popularity of the original manga and its spinoffs, the franchise has also inspired TV anime shows and several live-action adaptations.
