The Kimi to Hanabi to Yakusoku to (君と花火と約束と) novel by Mado Kaori has been green-lit for an anime film adaptation, which will premiere on July 17th, 2026. A trailer and visual for the anime film have been released.

Suzuki Kei is directing the anime film at Synergy SP, and the film will star Satou Shouri as Makoto Natsume and Hara Nanoka as Aki Hayama.
The story is set in Niigata’s Nagaoka Festival Fireworks Display, one of Japan’s three major fireworks displays, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people every year. A painting depicting fireworks brings together Makoto and Akira, two high school students living in Tokyo, far from Niigata. At the mercy of the mysterious painting and fate, Makoto and Akira are forced to make a decision within a limited amount of time.
