Staff for the Dorohedoro (ドロヘドロ ) anime series have announced that a third season has been green-lit. The confirmation comes after the season two finale episode aired on May 27th, 2026.

The anime’s first season premiered in January 2020, and the second season started on April 1st, 2026.

Both seasons can be streamed on the Crunchyroll website under the title Dorohedoro. Crunchyroll describes the anime below:
“In the lawless district known as Hole, sorcerers from another world use its residents as guinea pigs for their twisted magic. Caiman is one of those victims—left with a lizard head and no memory of his past, he’s now on a brutal quest for answers. To reclaim his true face and forgotten past, he and his partner Nikaido hunt sorcerers, hoping to uncover the truth behind his transformation.”
The anime is based on Hayashida Q’s Dorohedoro manga, which began in 1999 and ended in 2018. Shogakukan published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in January 2022 and the 23rd and final volume in November 2018.
Viz Media has published all of the manga volumes in English under the same name, and it describes the story below:
“In a city so dismal it’s known only as “the Hole,” a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious “experiments” in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they’re hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they’ll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of “cleaners” into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.”
