Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine has confirmed that Sorakura Shikiji will launch a new spinoff manga in the Bungo Stray Dogs (文豪ストレイドッグス ) franchise in the magazine’s August 2026 issue, available for sale on July 3rd, 2026.

Asagiri Kaftka and Harukawa Sango started the original Bungo Stray Dogs manga in December 2012 in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in April 2013 and the 28th volume in March 2026.


Yen Press releases the manga in English under the name Bungo Stray Dogs, and it will release the manga’s 27th volume on July 28th, 2026. It describes the manga story below:
“Having been kicked out of the orphanage, a despairing young man by the name of Atsushi Nakajima rescues a strange man from a suicide attempt–Osamu Dazai. Turns out that Dazai is part of a detective agency staffed by individuals whose supernatural powers take on a literary bent!”
The manga was adapated into a TV anime which began in June 2016, followed by a second season in October 2026, a third season in April 2019, a fourth season in January 2023 and a fifth season in July 2023. All five seasons of the anime can be streamed on the Crunchyroll website under the title Bungo Stray Dogs.
The franchise also includes other works, such as the Bungo Stray Dogs: Wan! (Bungo Stray Dogs: Woof!) spinoff manga by Kanaineko, which began in December 2025 and currently has 15 volumes. The manga was also adapted into an anime, which premiered in January 2021, and its second season will debut in July 2026. The Bungo Stray Dogs: Wan! anime can also be streamed on the Crunchyroll website.
