CAPCOM has revealed a new trailer for the Onimusha: Way of the Sword game, which will be released on September 4th, 2026. The game will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

The Onimusha: Way of the Sword game is described as a fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-era Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice. With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger, and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy. Follow the tale of a samurai who wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants its bearer the power to slay Genma. Through gritty, blood-soaked brawls, he searches for his reason to fight. The original Onimusha fantasy action game was released in 2001, and it retells stories from the Sengoku era using supernatural elements. The latest games in the franchise were a remastered version of the Onimusha Warlords game, released in January 2019 and the remastered Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny game, released in May 2025.
