Staff for the Replica Datte, Koi o Suru (Even a Replica Can Fall in Love/レプリカだって、恋をする。) TV anime have revealed the second promotional video and new visual for the show. Staff have also confirmed that the anime will premiere on April 7th, 2026, at 11:30 p.m. on the AT-X channel.

Kimura Ryuichi is directing the anime at Voil studios, and the anime will star Morohoshi Sumire as Sunao Aikawa and Nao, and Suzuki Ryouta as Shuuya Sanada. The newly confirmed cast members are listed below:
- Takada Yuuki as Ritsuko Hironaka
- Nazuka Kaori as Suzumi Mori
- Fukuyama Jun as Shun Mochizuki
- Hidaka Rina as Kazue Satou
- Nakamura Shuugo as Haruka Yoshii
The anime is based on Harunadon’s Replica Datte, Koi o Suru light novel series. Kadokawa published Harunadon’s first novel with illustrations by raemz in February 2023 and the fifth novel in August 2025. The series’s sixth novel is scheduled for release on April 10th, 2026.
Yen Press publishes the novel series in English under the name Even a Replica Can Fall in Love, and it released the fourth novel on February 10th, 2026. Yen Press describes the novel’s story below:
“When she doesn’t feel well, when there’s a test, when she doesn’t want to go to school… I take her place. I’m her replica. I’m not meant for anything else. But that changed when I fell in love. I wear my hair up so the boy I fell for knows it’s me. We skip school and promise to meet again tomorrow, and every day after. I’m her replica. Everything about me is borrowed and empty, but my heart is mine.”
The light novel series was also adapted into a manga in April 2023 by Hanada Momose in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine. Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2023 and the fourth volume in August 2025. The manga’s fifth volume is scheduled for release on April 27th, 2026.
The manga’s chapters and the novels are released in English on Kadokawa’s BookWalker Global website under the name Even a Replica Can Fall in Love.
