Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that the Majo to Youhei (Witch and Mercenary/魔女と傭兵) light novel series by Chouhoukiteki Kaeru will get a TV anime adaptation on the NTV channel in 2027. A teaser promotional video and teaser visual have been revealed.

Ezaki Shinpei is directing the anime at 8-Bit Studio, and the anime will star Hayami Saori as Siasha and Ban Taito as Zig Crane.
The anime’s official website also launched a voice drama and a series of short stories, both written under the supervision of Chouhoukiteki.

Author Chouhoukiteki started the original story in June 2021 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website and ended it in December 2022. Micro Magazine published the first novel in May 2023 with illustrations by Kanase Bench and the seventh novel in January 2026.
The novel series was adapted into a manga by Miyagi Makoto in January 2024 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga app. Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in May 2024 and the eighth volume in March 2026. K Manga Service publishes the manga chapters in English under the name The Witch and the Mercenary.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the novel series in English under the name Witch and Mercenary, and it released the sixth novel, part 1, digitally in March 2026, and the sixth novel, part 2, is scheduled for release on July 7th, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the novel story below:
