The ninth novel in the Henjin no Salad Bowl (A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics/ 変人のサラダボウル ) series by Hirasaka Yomi was released in Japan on December 18th, 2025, and it revealed that the author plans to end the novel series with the next book.

The light novels are written by Hirasaka (Boku wa Tomodachi ga SukunaiImouto Sae Ireba Ii) and illustrated by Kantoku (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai NekoSasaki and P-chan, as well as Imouto Sae Ireba Ii). The series’s first novel was published by Shogakukan in October 2021, and its eighth novel was released in April 2025.

The story follows Sousuke Kaburaya, a poor detective. While tailing someone one day, he meets Sara Da Odin, a princess from another world with magical powers. They gradually start living together, and Sara quickly familiarises herself with modern-day Japan. A female knight from Sara’s world, named Livia Do Udis, also comes to this world and lives the life of a homeless person, but she finds herself unexpectedly enjoying her new life. The story follows Sousuke, two strong-willed and vivacious women from another world, and eccentric characters such as a brutish lawyer, a religious leader, and a divorce agent.

Yamada Koutarou (Sword Art Online: Project Alicization) adapted the story into a manga in September 2022 on the Sunday Webry website, and Shogakukan published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in February 2023. The manga’s sixth and final volume was released in January 2025.

The novels were also adapted into a TV anime in April 2024, and all 12 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll. The anime can be found under the A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics title, and Crunchyroll describes the story below:
