The official website for the Nihon e Youkoso Elf-san (Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!) TV anime has revealed a new visual this week and confirmed that the show will premiere in January 2025 in Japan on the MBS, TBS, and CBC Animeism programming block, and will also air on BS11 and AT-X.
Kitahata Touro (Hinako Note, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT) is directing the anime at Zero-G studio, and the anime will star Kobayashi Yuusuke as Kazuhiro Kitase/ Kazuhiho, Hondo Kaede as Marie, Uchiyama Yumi as Wrida and Sasaki Rico as Mewi.

The anime is based on Makishima Suzuki’s Nihon e Youkoso Elf-san light novel series. Mikishima started the ongoing story in February 2017 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Hobby Japan published the first novel in the series with illustrations by Yappen (Goshujin-sama to Yuku Isekai Survival!) in August 2018. The ninth novel was released in October 2023, and according to Amazon Japan, the 10th novel will be published on January 19th, 2025.
The novel series has also inspired a manga adaptation by Shimo Amo (Artist for Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou). The manga was launched in December 2018 on Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website, and Hobby Japan published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in May 2019. The latest volume, number 10, was released in August 2024. J-Novel Club publishes both the novels and the manga adaptation in English.
