After the series ended on September 12 on the 42nd issue of Weekly Shounen Sunday with chapter 46, Shogakukan has now released the fourth volume of Ichihara Chigusa’s Akatsuki Jihen and will release the fifth and final volume on November 17, ending the series’ printed run as well. A newcomer author, Ichihara began publishing the series on Sunday exactly a year prior on Sep 21, 2022.

Wang Yue belongs to the Zhu He family, a long line of shamans who wield spirit arts to protect their people from the incursions of divine beasts. However, they also forbid themselves to show any weakness, and children born without any talent for spirit arts are immediately erased from the family record and treated as though they don’t exist: a fate which befell his beloved younger sister Chu Yue. Unable to tolerate it, he spends seven long years planning to escape with her from the family house… but as it turns out, the Zhu He are also gifted clairvoyants, and their plan is uncovered way ahead of time and crushed without effort. Backed against a wall, Wang Yue forges a new resolve: to become strong enough to unseat the head of the family, his father, and change things from the inside; to make that very house a place where his sister can finally live a normal life.

“I think the best way to express my gratitude will be to enrich the volumes’ bonus material and get the next series out as soon as possible, so I will work as diligently as I can on both of those ends.”
