Wono launched the manga on Cycomi in May 2019, with Shogakukan publishing the physical tankoubon edition (fifteen volumes as of August 18). It earned 1st place in the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2022 in the shoujo manga category.

It also received a live-action adaptation directed by Sakai Mai, Kondo Sachiko and Sugawara Masato and the first season premiered on MBS and TBS in April 2022, followed by a second season in May 2023 for a total of 22 episodes. The adaptation received worldwide streaming on Disney+.

Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo tells many interconnected stories about people from different walks of life, and their relationship with love, trauma, insecurity and compensated dating. From a solitary college student who has to juggle her job as an escort with her personal life, to a woman obsessed with plastic surgery to cover up her flaws, to a mentally troubled girl who ran away from her family in the countryside, it delves into their experiences in a down-to-heart fashion without shying away from the heavier aspects of them.
