Aniplex has revealed a new promotional video and key visual for the Oni no Hanayome (鬼の花嫁 /The Ogre’s Bride) TV anime and confirmed that the show will premiere in 2026.

Oumiya Kazuhito is directing the anime at Colored Pencil Animation Japan, and the anime will star Hayami Saori as Yuzu Shinonome and Umehara Yuuichirou as Reiya Kiryuin.
The anime is based on Kureha’s Oni no Hanayome (鬼の花嫁 /The Ogre’s Bride) light novel series. Kureha (Kekkaishi no Ichirinka, Fukushuu o Chikatta Shironeko wa Ryuuou no Hiza no Ue de Damin o Musaboru) started the story in 2019 in Starts Publishing’s Novema! platform. Starts Publishing released the first novel with illustrations by Shiroya Yuu (Zetsubou Reijou no Kareinaru Rikon) in October 2020 and the fifth novel in December 2021.
Kureha continued the story with a Newlywed novel edition, and Starts Publishing released the first novel in August 2022 and the fourth novel in May 2024.
Starts Publishing will also release a new book on September 28th, 2025, which contains stories about the characters’ daily lives and interactions, as well as tales not included in the main story.

The novel series was adapted into a manga by Togashi Jun in December 2021 in Starts Publishing’s Noicomi magazine, and Starts Publishing published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in August 2022. The manga’s seventh volume was released in June 2025.
The manga is released by MangaPlaza in English under the name The Ogre’s Bride, and it describes the story below:
“A Japanese-style ayakashi Cinderella story! “You’re the bride I’ve been searching for all this time.” The ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, having superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes find their partner among human women, making them their “bride”. The bride, in exchange for bringing prosperity, receives absolute love from the ayakashi. Yuzu is constantly compared to her sister, a bride of a demon fox, and is resented by her family every day. One day, when Yuzu just couldn’t take things anymore, a man appeared before her on a bridge.
