Reservations are open for the Japanese release of the eighth and final volume of Fukuchi Tsubasa’s Golden Spiral, due for release on November 17. The series launched on Shogakukan‘s Weekly Shounen Sunday on April 13, 2022, before moving to the Sunday Webry website on April 22, 2023, reaching the 68th and final chapter on September 16.

A veteran author, Fukuchi has been publishing his works on Shounen Sunday since his debut with his best-known series, action battle manga Law of Ueki, serialized from July 23, 2001, to October 20, 2004, and collected into sixteen volumes, which was followed by a five-volume sequel series titled Law of Ueki Plus. Other noteworthy works are Psyche Mata Shitemo and Ponkotsu-chan Kenshouchuu.

A thousand years ago, divine wrath was unleashed on humanity, flooding the planet. Now, the survivors live in a volcanic basin, the only spot of dry land left on Earth, besieged on all sides by angels while fearing someday the water level might rise again. Zabi, the former prince of this kingdom, went into hiding ten years ago after his father, the king, was assassinated and now lives as a town guard. But not a day passes that his father’s last words aren’t on his mind: a dry continent rich with resources, called Utopie, still exists somewhere on the planet, and one day a “star of hope” will fall from the heavens and light the way to it. And something does indeed fall from the sky right before Zabi’s eyes: a cocoon containing a young boy named Garo, who has little to no memories of his past. But he has vague recollections of the civilization from before the flood, and Zabi realizes that unlocking these memories is the key to finding a path to Utopie.
