The official website for the anime Saikyou Tank no Meikyuu Kouryaku (The Strongest Tank’s Labyrinth Raids) has revealed a new promotional video, more cast members, the show’s key visual, and it confirmed that the show will premiere on January 6, 2024.

Noshitani Mitsutaka (Skirt no Naka wa Kedamono Deshita, Papa Datte, Shitai) directs the anime at STUDIO POLON. The anime will air on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other affiliated stations in the “Animazing!!!” programming block.
Staff for the show had confirmed some of the cast, such as Kasama Jun as Rud, Hondo Kaede as Nin, and Ichinose Kana as Luna. Further cast members have now been revealed as Ogura Yui as Manicia, Ohashi Ayaka as Lilia, Yuuki Kana as Lily, Okamoto Nobuhiko as Marius and Kuno Misaki as Amon.
The Saikyou Tank no Meikyuu Kouryaku anime is an adaptation of the manga by Kisaragi Mokoto, with the manga itself being an adaptation of the novels by Kijima Ryuuta (Fuguushoku “Kajishi” Dakedo Saikyou Desu and Born with the Weakest Job) and Sando (Odayaka Kizoku no Kyuuka no Susume).
Kijima launched the original story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2018 and ended it in February 2021. Shufunotomo published the story’s first print volume with illustrations by Sando in April 2019 and published the fifth novel volume in February 2023. Kisaragi launched the manga adaptation in 2019 in Square Enix’s Manga UP! App.
Rud is a tank of the Hero’s Party and is said to have the highest defence ever in history. The party often does labyrinth raids, but to Rud, it means more than just a raid. To cure his beloved sister’s illness, he searches for the wish-granting treasure hidden in those labyrinths. But one day, the arrogant hero kicks him from the party after an unsuccessful raid attempt, blaming it on his skills, whose effects he is still unaware of. Without nowhere else to go and nothing to do, he decides to return to his hometown, where his sister is waiting. On his way there, he saves a girl being attacked by a monster. Unexpectedly, this girl has an extremely rare skill called “Appraisal”. Thanks to her skill, Rud can discover the truth behind his unknown skills, which turn out to be very powerful skills. With a defence of 9999 and powerful skills, thus begins the adventure of the strongest tank, Rud!
