The ninth tankoubon volume of the Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu (A Smile in an Unberable Workplace) manga confirmed that the series has been green-lit for an anime adaptation, which will be produced by Voil and will air in 2025.
The manga creator, Kuzushiro (Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san, Chihaya-san wa Sono Mama de Ii, Tobaku Senpai Nani Kakeru?), shared an illustration to celebrate the announcement.
The manga was first published in February 2019 as a one-shot in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine. Kuzushiro began serializing the manga in May 2019 in Kondansha’s Comic Days app and website. The manga’s first tankoubon volume was published in December 2019, and the latest volume, volume nine, will be available for sale in Japan starting January 18, 2024.
