A new system is applied to the world of Alfheim Online, but a malfunction causes all worlds and timelines to collide, creating a unique setting and challenging environment for Kirito and other players. All are lost in uncharted territory, enemies become allies, departed characters are back, and unlikely alliances will be formed to survive the dangers in this unsettled world.
The last game in the franchise was Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, which was launched for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in Japan on October 5th, 2023, and in the West on October 6th, 2023.
