Sasuga and Tachibana (Gigantis) started the manga in 2011, and Shueisha released the first tankoubon volume in April 2012. The last volume to be released was the manga’s 22nd volume in November 2019. The manga went on indefinite hiatus in December 2019 due to Sasuga‘s health issues, and in 2021, Tachibana confirmed that the manga would resume once Sasuga had recovered.
Due to the popularity of the manga, it received a 13-episode anime in September 2014 and a sequel in April 2016. The manga also inspired a two-episode OVA series in 2014.
