TV anime Kakuriyo Yadomeshi (Kakuriyo – Bed & Breakfast for Spirits) will receive a second season in the fall of 2025. The anime’s official website confirmed the news and revealed a new teaser visual.

Okuda Yoshiko directed the first season of the anime at GONZO Studios. The anime premiered in April 2018, and all 26 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.

The anime is based on the Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi (Afterlife Inn Cooking) light novel series, written by Yuuma Midori (Minazuki-ke no Iinazuke, Torii no Mukō wa, Shiranai Sekai Deshita) and illustrated by Laruha (Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru). Yuumna started the novel series in April 2015 in Kadokawa’s Fujimi L Bunko imprint, and Kadokawa published the 12th novel in March 2022.

The novel series inspired a manga adaptation created by Ioka Waco (Ginban Danshi – Figu-Men) in April 2016, serialized in Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG COMIC magazine and website. Kadokawa released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2016 and its 10th volume in February 2024.

Toba Tsugaru created a second manga adaptation in January 2023. The manga is serialized in Kodansha’s monthly Shounen Sirius magazine, and Kodansha released the first volume in May 2023 and the fourth in March 2024. Toba released an illustration in celebration of the anime’s second season announcement.

A female college student named Aoi inherits the ability to see spirits from her late grandfather. She prides herself on her cooking, and one day, she’s feeding some agricultural spirits when suddenly, a god and the master of the Tenshinya (Heavenly Inn) appears and takes her away. He says she must become his bride due to her grandfather’s debts; Aoi hates this idea and declares that she will repay her grandfather’s debt by working at the Tenshinya.
