Abe Miyuki’s Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East) manga will end with its 82nd chapter in the summer issue of Kadokawa’s Emerald Magazine. The summer issue will be available for sale in late August 2024.

Abe (Kimi wa Boku o Suki ni Naru, Super Lovers, Bashing Renai) started the manga in 2005 in Tosuisha’s Ichi Raki magazine. In 2011, the manga moved to Kadokawa’s Ciel magazine before finally settling in Kadokawa’s Emerald Magazine in 2014. The manga’s first tankoubon volume was released in October 2005, and Kadokawa released the 23rd volume in December 2023.

The manga has inspired two anime seasons, which premiered in January and July 2013.
