Satou Yuki’s Tomodachi Game (Friends Games) manga will end with the 26th tankoubon volume later this year. The news was confirmed with the release of the 25th volume on May 9th, 2024.
Satou started the manga in December 2013 on Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, and Kodansha released the manga’s first volume in April 2014. In 2017, the manga inspired a live-action drama series and two live-action films. A second live-action TV show aired in July 2022. The manga series was also adapted into a TV anime in April 2022, and all 12 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
Katagiri Yuichi believes that friends are more important than money, but he also knows the hardships of not having enough funds. He works hard to save up for the high school trip because he has promised his four best friends that they will all go together. However, after the class’s money is all collected, it is stolen! Suspicion falls on two of Yuichi’s friends, Sawaragi Shiho and Shibe Makoto.
Soon afterward, the five are kidnapped. Apparently, one of them has entered them into a friendship game to pay off their massive debt. But who was it, and why did they have such a debt? Could they have stolen the money from class to pay for entry into the game? Yuichi and his best friends will have to succeed in psychological games that will test or destroy their faith in one another.
