Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sun magazine confirmed this week that Minekura Kazuya’s Saiyuki Reload Blast manga will return from hiatus in the magazine’s November 2024 issue, which will be available for sale on September 28th, 2024

Minekura started the Saiyuki Reload Blast manga in 2009 in Ichijinsha’s Comic Zero Sun magazine, but publication slowed down in 2013 due to the author’s health. Ichijinsha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2012 and the third volume in October 2017. The manga went on hiatus in 2017 and resumed in 2019 before going on hiatus again.

The manga is a sequel to Minekura’s Saiyuki manga, which started in 1997, and Minekura’s Saiyuki Reload manga, which began in 2002. The manga series has inspired several manga spinoffs, TV animes, OVAs, stage musicals, and one anime film. The Saiyuki Reload Blast manga was adapted into an anime in July 2017, and all 12 episodes can be streamed on the Crunchyroll website.
