A color page promoting the release of Kazuki and Kamejima Junto’s Maria no Danzai‘s volume 1 was uploaded to the Tonari no Young Jump website, as well as the volume cover.
Also known for Kowamote Kouhai ga Ichinichi Ikkai Suki tte Ittekuru and co-writing the manga adaptation of Ryuuou no Oshigoto!, Kazuki began writing Maria no Danzai on May 5 2023 on Shueisha‘s Tonari no Young Jump with newcomer Kamejima Junto as the artist.
Nagare Kiritaka is a victim of horrific bullying a the hands of a clique of privileged students. While her mother Mari suspects something, her husband, a police inspector, is too engrossed in his job to allay her suspicions. It’s not until the bullying culminates in Kiritaka’s gruesome death right before Mari’s eyes and she later discovers the evidence he was gathering against his tormentors that the horrible truth comes out. Brought to the breaking point, something inside Mari snaps: she divorces her husband, undergoes cosmetic surgery, and reappears two years later as a school nurse, under the name of Akeboshi Maria. With all preparations in place, her campaign of vengeful justice can now begin…
To further promote the series, a vomic starring Oohara Sayaka (Alicia from the Aria series, Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail, Ichihara Yuuko from the xxxHolic series) in the role of Mari/Maria was uploaded to the Young Jump Youtube channel.
