The Fuguushoku “Kanteishi” ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta – Naraku de Kitaeta Saikyou no “Shingan” de Musou Suru (Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m the Strongest) manga by Fuji Morohoshi will end with the release of its next chapter on April 9th, 2025.
The manga is based on the light novel series by Ibarakino and Hitaki Yu. Ibarakino (Bouken ni, Tsuite Konaide Okaa-san!, Mudada to Tsuihou Sareta “Kyuutei Juui”) started the story in December 2019 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Kodansha published the first novel with illustrations by Hitaki (Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival) in September 2020. The fourth novel in the series was released on February 28th, 2025.
Fuji adapted the novel series into a manga in July 2020 in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app. Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2020 and the 15th volume on March 7th, 2025.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English under the name Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m the Strongest, and it released the manga’s 12th volume in January 2025. Kodansha USA describes the manga story below:
In a fantasy world where “jobs” are god-given from birth, heroes are born, not made…and Ein’s job of “Appraiser” has put him about as far from the “hero” pedestal as possible. Used, abused, and eventually abandoned by his fellow adventurers, Ein decides it just isn’t worth going on… Lucky for Ein, though, the end may just be the beginning…and a new lease on life. Turns out, his “worthless” job may just be the key to becoming a hero after all…
The novel series also inspired a TV anime, which premiered in January 2025, and all 12 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
