Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine has confirmed that Takeda Hazumi will launch a manga adaptation of the 26th novel of Satou Tsutomu’s Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School) light novel series. The new manga, titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Invasion-he (The Irregular at Magic High School: Invasion Arc), will start in the magazine’s June 2025 issue, available for sale from May 16th, 2025.

The original novel series, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School), by Tsutomu and illustrated by Ishida Kana, started in 2008 and ended in September 2020 with its 32nd novel. The 26th novel in the series, which will be adapted by Takeda, was released in August 2018.

Yen Press publishes the novel series in English under the name The Irregular at Magic High School, and it will release the 25th novel on July 15th, 2025.

Various manga adaptations, sequels and spinoffs for the novel series have been released, including a manga adaptation of the 19th novel, which was also launched by Takeda. The manga adaptation, titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Ichijou Masaki Tenkou-hen, began in November 2024 and ended on April 18th, 2025. Square Enix published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2024.

The light novel series also received a TV anime adaptation in April 2014 titled The Irregular at Magic High School, which was followed by a second season in October 2020 and a third season in April 2024. The franchise also inspired an anime film in June 2017, titled The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Summons the Stars.
