The final chapter of the Gendai Teni no Daini Ouji (The Second Prince Reincarnates to the Modern World) manga by Amamiya Keiri was published on November 2nd, 2024, on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app. The manga is a spinoff of the Tensei Shitara Dainana Ouji Datta no de, Kimamani Majutsu o Kiwamemasu (I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability) light novel series by Kenkyo na Circle.
Amamiya started the manga in February 2024 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app, and Kodansha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2024. The second volume was released in September 2024, and the third volume will be published on January 8th, 2025.
Kenkyon na Circle started the light novel series in October 2019 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website. Kodansha began publishing the novel series in July 2020 with illustrations by Meru, and it released the eighth novel in Japan in July 2024.
The Tensei Shitara Dainana Ouji Datta no de, Kimamani Majutsu o Kiwamemasu light novel series inspired a manga of the same name by Kokuzawa Yousuke (Choujin Gakuen) in June 2020. The manga is published in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga app, and Kodansha published the manga’s first volume in November 2020. The 17th volume will be released on November 8th, 2024.
The novels also inspired a TV anime adaptation, which premiered in April 2024 and can be streamed on Crunchyroll. In June 2024, it was announced that the anime had been green-lit for a second season.
The Gendai Teni no Daini Ouji manga story follows the second prince of the Kingdom of Saloum, Alberto, and the seventh prince, Lloyd, who are blown to the present day by a massive torrent of magical power created by a “spell bundle”. As they are at a loss in an unfamiliar land and language, they are saved by Natsume, a runaway girl with a secret. Offering him a place to stay and food, Alberto masters Japanese overnight and quickly adapts to modern Japan. In order to find a way to return to his original world, he decides to work in this world!
