Staff for the Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta: Saikyou Igai Mezasanee (Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling/ 転生したらドラゴンの卵だった ~最強以外目指さねぇ~ ) TV anime have revealed the show’s main promotional video and confirmed that the anime will premiere on January 10th, 2026, on the AT-X channel.

The anime will debut on January 10th on the AT-X channel at 9:30 p.m., and it will then air on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:30 p.m. and on the Sun TV channel at 11:30 p.m. The anime will also air on the BS11 channel on the following day.
Takamura Yuuta is directing the anime at GA-CREW and Felix Film studios. HIDIVE will stream the anime, which stars Toki Shunichi as Ilusia, Koshimizu Ami as Divine Voice and Itou Miku as Myria.
Staff for the anime confirmed this week that Kugimiya Rei will star as Marielle and Kusunoki Tomori will star as Black Lizard.
The anime is based on the Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta: Saikyou Igai Mezasanee light novel series by Nekoko and Yanagida Naji.
Nekoko (Tsuihou Sareta Tensei Juu Kishi wa Game Chishiki de Musou Suru, Fushisha no Deshi: Jashin no Fukyou wo Katte Naraku ni Otosareta Ore no Eiyuutan) started the story in August 2015 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and Earth Star Entertainment published the first novel with illustrations by Yanagida (Re: Monster Ankoku Tairiku Hen) in December 2015. The 16th novel was released by Square Enix in June 2022, and the 17th and final novel is scheduled for release on January 7th, 2026.
Manga author RIO adapted the series into a manga in May 2017 in Comic Earth Star, and Earth Star Entertainment published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2018 and the eighth volume in January 2025. The ninth volume is scheduled for release on January 9th, 2026.
Seven Seas Entertainment releases both the novel series and manga adaptation in English under the name Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling. It will publish the 13th novel on May 24th, 2026 and the eighth manga volume on December 30th, 2025. It describes the novel story below:
“Our hero wakes up one day in a brand new world…but his new life doesn’t come with fighting skills or magic powers, or even arms and legs! He’s reborn as a helpless egg, stuck in an unfamiliar forest surrounded by terrifying, hungry beasts. But eggs hatch, hatchlings grow up, and humble beginnings can lead to something great.
