The fourth and final tankoubon volume of the Akazukin, Tabi no Tochuu de Shitai to Deau (赤ずきん、旅の途中で死体と出会う。 / Little Red Riding Hood Encounters a Corpse on Her Journey) manga by Tanakanoka and Aoyagi Aito was released on June 12th, 2025.
The manga is an adaptation of the light novel of the same name by author Aoyagi Aito (Akagamin wa Dasshutsu Dekinai, Tonegawa Ririka no Jikkenshitsu). Futabasha released Aoyagi’s fantasy mystery novel in August 2020.
Tanakanoka (Koi no Torikata, Sumikko no Sora-san, Tabi to Michidure) adapted the novel into a manga in January 2023 in Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine, and in April 2024, the manga moved to the Web Comic Action website, where it was serialised until its end in May 2025. Futabasha published the manga’s first volume in August 2023 and the third volume in November 2024.

“A complete comic adaptation of the much-talked-about mystery novel! During one journey, Little Red Riding Hood encounters a dead body! Will she be able to brilliantly solve this case, full of tricks based on fairy tales such as “Cinderella” and “Hansel and Gretel”? The journey of the great detective Little Red Riding Hood begins.”</
The novel was also adapted into a live-action film for Netflix Japan in September 2023. The film’s English title is Once Upon a Crime.
