The official website for the second season of the Kakuriyo Yadomeshi (かくりよの宿飯 / Kakuriyo – Bed & Breakfast for Spirits) TV anime has revealed a new teaser trailer and visual for the show. It’s also been confirmed that the anime’s second season will premiere in October 2025.

Yoshizaki Joe is directing the anime’s second season at GONZO and Makaria studios.
The anime’s first season, directed by Okuda Yoshiko at GONZO Studios, premiered in April 2018, and all 26 episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll. The anime is described by Crunchyroll below:
“After losing her grandfather, Aoi—a girl who can see spirits known as ayakashi—is suddenly approached by an ogre. Demanding she pay her grandfather’s debt, he makes a huge request: her hand in marriage! Refusing this absurd offer, Aoi decides to work at the Tenjin-ya bed and breakfast for the ayakashi to pay back what her family owes.”
The anime is based on the Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi ( かくりよの宿飯 ) light novel series, written by Yuuma Midori (Minazuki-ke no Iinazuke, Torii no Mukou wa, Shiranai Sekai Deshita) and illustrated by Laruha (Majutsu-shi Kunon wa Mieteiru). Yuumna started the novel series in April 2015 in Kadokawa’s Fujimi L Bunko imprint, and Kadokawa published the 12th novel in March 2022.
The novel series inspired a manga adaptation created by Ioka Waco in April 2016. The manga, titled Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi – Ayakashi Oyado ni Yomeiri Shimasu, is serialised in Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG COMIC magazine and website. Kadokawa released the manga’s first tankoubon volume in November 2016 and its 11th volume in November 2024.
Viz Media publishes Ioka’s manga adaptation in English under the name Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, and it released the 10th volume in March 2025. It describes the manga story below:
“Aoi wants to work off her debt to the Tenjin-ya inn, but she only has one day to find a position and none of the managers are willing to hire a human! If she can just get someone to see past her family background, Aoi is certain she can prove her worth!”
Toba Tsugaru created a second manga adaptation in January 2023 titled Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi: Ayakashi Oyado ni Yomeiri Shimasu. The manga is serialised in Kodansha’s monthly Shounen Sirius magazine, and Kodansha released the first volume in May 2023 and the ninth volume on July 30th, 2025.
