Netflix describes the show as a two-part special, where Usopp spins a tall tale about the Straw Hats’ journey across the East Blue into the Grand Line before Chopper joined the crew.

Oda began serialising the ongoing manga in July 1997 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine, and Shueisha published the manga’s most recent tankoubon volume, number 114th, in March 2026. The manga’s 115th volume will be released on August 4th, 2026.

Netflix has also recently revealed the first teaser trailer for The One Piece (ザワンピース) anime remake by Wit Studio, and it also confirmed that it would begin streaming all seven episodes of the anime’s first season worldwide in February 2027.
