The official website for the Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama (The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects/領民０人スタートの辺境領主様 ) anime has released the first promotional video and key visual for the show. Its also confimed that the anime will premiere in July 2026.

Imaizumi Kenichi is directing the anime at animation studio24, and the anime will star:
- Matsuda Kenichirou as Dias
- Wakayama Shion as Alna
- Ban Taito as Klaus
- Itou Miku as Senai
- Shiraishi Haruka as Aihan
- Fukuyama Jun as Eldan
The anime is an adaptation of Fuurou’s Ryoumin 0-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama light novel series. Author Fuurou started the story in January 2018 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou service, and Earth Star Entertainment published the first novel with illustrations by Kinta in October 2018. The series 14th novel was released in September 2025, and its 15th novel is scheduled for release on April 15th, 2026.
The novels were adapted into a manga by Yumbo in December 2018 in Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star. Earth Star Entertainment published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in June 2019, and the 14th volume in January 2026.
J-Novel Club publishes both the novel series and manga adaptation under the name The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects. It will release the 13th novel digitally on April 14th, 2026, and the manga’s 13th volume on May 13th, 2026. J-Novel Club describes the novel story below:
