The official website for the TV anime series Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyuutan (A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero) confirmed that it will premiere in July 2024 on Tokyo MX and BS NTV.

Kobayashi Tomoki (Utawarerumono, Takunomi, Akame ga KILL!) directs the anime at Gekkou studio. The anime will star Hozumi Yuuya as Kaito Takagi and Hanazawa Kana as Sylphy.
The anime is an adaptation of Keito‘s light novel series, which features illustrations by Arumikku. Keito started the series in 2019 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and the HJ Bunko imprint released the first novel with illustrations by Arumikku in July 2021. The eighth novel in the series was published on February 1st, 2024.
The novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Teri Terio (Little Witch Academia) in August 2021 in Akita Shoten’s Dokodemo Young Champion magazine. The manga’s first tankoubon volume was released in February 2022, and the third in December 2023.
Kaito Takagi, a high school student who is a mob character with poor status, is an explorer who hunts slimes every day in dungeons that appear in Japan to earn pocket money. One day, a golden slime he had never seen appeared before him. Baffled, he still manages to defeat the slime and get an extremely rare item called the Servant Card, which can summon mythical beings and has a value of hundreds of millions. He then summons a Valkyrie, a beautiful warrior maiden. Kaito starts his adventure to rise from being a mob to a hero.
