The June 2024 issue of Shogakukan’s Gessan magazine announced this week that manga artist Yamamoto Souichirou will launch a new manga starting in the magazine’s August 2024 issue, available on July 12th, 2024. The magazine did not confirm the manga’s title, but a teaser image for the series has been revealed.
Yamamoto is well known for the Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Teasing Master Takagi-san) manga, which ran from 2013 to 2023. The manga inspired a TV anime adaptation in January 2018, along with a second season in July 2029 and a third season in January 2022. The manga also inspired an anime movie in July 2022 and a life action series, which premiered on Netflix in March 2024.
Yamamoto also created the Sore Demo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) manga, which was adapted into a TV anime in July 2022, and the Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki) manga which was adapted into a TV anime in April 2022.
