The June 2026 issue of Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine has revealed that the Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte: Sphere no Shitenshi (Ameku Takao’s Detective Karte: The Killer Angel Within/天久鷹央の推理カルテ スフィアの死天使 ) manga by Takenashi Eri will end with its third tankoubon volume. The third volume is scheduled for release on July 7th, 2026.
Takenashi started the manga in September 2024 in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine and Kondansha published the manga’s first volume in January 2025 and the second volume in August 2025. The manga revolves around a female doctor who solves murders and medical mysteries at the Department of Diagnosis at a general hospital.
The manga is based on the light novel series titled Ameku Takao no Suiri Karte (Ameku Takao’s Detective Karte/ 天久鷹央の推理カルテ ) by author Chinen Mikito. Publisher Shinchosha released the first 13 novels by Chinen with illustrations by Ito Noizi from October 2014 to September 2022.
Since October 2023, Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha has begun republishing the original 13 novels, along with several new novels in the series, the last of which was released on April 3rd, 2026.
The novel series was also adapted into a TV anime, which premiered in January 2025 and a live-action series, which debuted in April 2025. The anime can be streamed on Crunchyroll under the name Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective, and it describes the story below:
