The anime is based on the story of Class no Dai Kirai na Joshi to Kekkon suru Koto ni Natta. The story started as a YouTube manga in March 2020 on the Manga Angel Neko Oka channel, with Amano Seijo as the scriptwriter and Mosskonbu as the illustrator.
The story was adapted into a novel series by Amano with illustrations by Narumi Nanami. Kadokawa published the first novel in December 2020, and the ninth novel was released in August 2024.
Mosskonbu adapted the story into a manga in May 2021 in Kadokawa’s Shounen Ace Plus web manga magazine. Kadokawa published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in December 2021 and the sixth in September 2024.
The story follows high school student Saito Hojo, who, due to strange circumstances, marries his classmate and his enemy, Akane Sakuramori. There’s no way that married life would go smoothly for two people who normally dislike each other, and they clash all the time. However, as they make compromises in their daily lives and spend more time together having fun, they grow closer and gradually come to understand each other.
