Shogakukan has confirmed that Koshita Tetsuhiro’s Honou no Toukyuujo: Dodge Danko (炎の闘球女 ドッジ弾子) manga has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation in 2026. The manga is a sequel to Koshita’s Honou no Toukyuuji Dodge Danpei (炎の闘球児 ドッジ弾平) manga.

The original Honou no Toukyuuji Dodge Danpei manga ran from 1989 to 1995 in Shogakukan’s Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine, and Shogakukan published a total of 18 tankoubon volumes. The manga was adapted into a TV anime, which premiered in 1991 and had a total of 47 episodes.
Koshita started the sequel manga, Honou no Toukyuujo: Dodge Danko, in November 2022 on Shogakukan’s Weekly CoroCoro Comic Website. Shogakukan published the manga’s first volume in April 2023 and the fifth volume in January 2025. The manga’s sixth volume will be released on August 28th, 2025.
