It has been confirmed that Chiba Yuu’s Youchien Wars (Kindergarten WARS/ 幼稚園WARS) manga has been green-lit for a TV anime adaptation. The anime will star Tanezaki Atsumi as Rita and Kumagai Kentarou as Doug.

Manga creator Chiba shared an illustration in celebration of the anime news.
Chiba (Dricam!!) started the manga in September 2022 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in March 2023. The manga’s 15th volume was released in August 2025.
Shueisha’s MANGA Plus website releases the manga’s chapters digitally in English under the name Kindergarten WARS. Yen Press publishes the manga volumes in English, and it will release the third volume in print on January 20th, 2026. Yen Press describes the manga’s story below:
“Rita is Convict No. 999, a former legendary assassin who now works at a kindergarten for the children of the world’s most powerful people. Her job is to protect the kids from the clutches of would-be assassins!
