Staff for the Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen (Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto/ 岩元先輩ノ推薦 ) TV anime have revealed a second promotional video and a new visual, as well as confirming that the anime will premiere in July 2026.

Kawase Toshifumi is directing the anime at Studio DEEN, and the anime will star Ban Taito as Kodo Iwamoto, Sakakihara Yuki as Kai Haramachi, and Itou Kent as Soichiro Amaha. Newly confirmed cast members are listed below:
- Ishida Akira as Bokyo Kizujo
- Fukunishi Masaya as Oni Okuaki
- Nagatsuka Takuma as Shizuma Aonuma
The anime is based on the Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen manga by Shiibashi Hiroshi. Shiinashi (Nurarihyon no Mago, Illegal Rare, Kamio Yui wa Kami o Yui) started the manga in February 2021 in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine, and Shueisha published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in July 2021. The manga’s 13th volume was released in January 2026.
The manga story follows Kodo Iwamoto, a third-year student at Seiho Middle School in the 1910’s. The school is directly controlled by the military and is dedicated to the collection and research of supernatural phenomena to harness that power for military use. Under orders from the military, Kodo travels around the country to investigate supernatural phenomena, and he encounters many mysterious events.
