The Watashi, Nibanme no Kanojo de Ii kara. (I’m Fine With Being the Second Girlfriend /わたし、二番目の彼女でいいから。) light novel series by Nishi Joyo ended with the release of the ninth novel on May 9th, 2026.
Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko released a special promotional video to celebrate the end of the series.

Nishi’s first novel was released in September 2021 with illustrations by ReTake, and the 8th novel was released in March 2025. The novels ranked in 15th place in the Next Light Novel Awards in 2021. In 2023, the series ranked 7th in the paperback category and 3rd in the new titles category in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! awards.
The novels were adapted into a manga by Ninoko in September 2022 on Kadokawa’s Dengeki Comic Regulus platform, and Kadokawa published the manga’s first volume in July 2023. The manga’s third volume was released in January 2026.
Seven Seas Entertainment will release the manga volumes in English under the name I’m Fine With Being the Second Girlfriend. It will release the first volume on July 14th, 2026 and the second volume on November 3rd, 2026. Seven Seas describes the manga story below:
