Shirai Hiroshi is directing the anime at Atra studio. The anime debuted on Japanese TV on October 5th, 2026, on the Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV and KBS Kyoto channels and on streaming platforms from October 3rd, 2026. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs under the title Romelia War Chronicle, and it describes the show below:
“Victory over the Demon King should have been Romelia’s triumph. Instead, her fiance, Prince Henri, breaks off their engagement and sends her home in disgrace to a province in ruins. With no aid in sight, Romelia vows to raise an army, rebuild the ruined towns, and restore a struggling kingdom as new conflicts arise. The war may be over, but her story’s just begun.”
The anime is based on the Romelia Senki: Maou o Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasou Dakara Guntai Soshiki Shita ( ロメリア戦記 ～魔王を倒した後も人類やばそうだから軍隊組織した～ ) light novel series by Ariyama Ryou.
Author Ariyama started the original story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in 2019, and Shogakukan published the first novel with illustrations by Kodama in June 2020. Kamito Ryou illustrated subsequent novels, and Shogakukan released the sixth and final volume in November 2025.
The novel series has also been adapted into a manga by Kamito in April 2021 on Mag Garden’s Manga Doa, which moved to Mag Garden’s Mag Comi Platform in January 2021. Mag Garden published the manga’s first tankoubon volume in October 2021, and the manga’s fifth volume was released in November 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment will release the manga adaptation in English under the title Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory. The manga’s fourth volume will be released on December 1st, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga story below:
“Deemed useless by her fiancé, one woman proves that even without magic and strength, she can save the kingdom through her own skills.
After journeying alongside her fiancé on his quest to defeat the Demon King, Romelia is suddenly deemed useless and sent home, her engagement annulled. While the prince and his group return as celebrated heroes, Rome goes home as a disgrace. But she’s not the same girl who left her province. While following the adventurers, Rome was the only one without magic or strength but she found her own abilities in trade, negotiation, finances, and gathering information. And now, she plans to use these skills to not only help her family’s province, but help the still struggling kingdom. The Demon King may be defeated, but his allies and demons continue to roam.
With only her wits and brilliance, Rome will build an army of her own and keep the kingdom safe—no matter what it takes.”
