The official Twitter account for Kadokawa’s Hero Bunko has revealed that the light novel Risou no Himo Seikatsu (The Ideal Sponger Life) has been greenlit for an anime adaptation. It also confirmed that the latest novel, volume 15, is now available for pre-order in Japan.
The original novel, created by Watanabe Tsunehiko, was published in June 2011 in the Shousetsuka ni Narou! website. In 2012, Shufunotomo published the first volume with illustrations by Ayakura Juu (Ookami to Koushinryou). The latest novel, number 15, will be released in Japan on December 28, 2023.
A manga adaptation was created by Hinotsuki Neko and published in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in 2017. Kadokawa published the manga’s 18th tankoubon volume in Japan in September 2023. Seven Seas licensed the manga, and J-Novel Club licensed the light novels.
