A new promotional video for Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku has been released, confirming that the anime will debut in 2024. The official website for the anime has also confirmed that Hatori Jun (Kawaisugi Crisis, Taisho Otome Otogi Banashi) is directing the anime at East Fish Studio.

The anime is based on the manga by Shinasaka Kouji, which ran from 2006 to 2011 in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion magazine. The original manga has 12 volumes. The manga franchise also includes the following titles: Touhai: Hitobashira-hen, Touhai: Minagoroshi-hen, Haou Densetsu Lion, and Haou Kessen Lion. The Touhai: Cold Girl manga is the latest in the franchise, and it’s ongoing, with the sixth volume to be published on January 18, 2024.
