The manga was first published on Wani Book’s Comic Gum website in December 2016. In May 2021, the manga went on hiatus; at that time, the publishing company was changed to Akita Shoten. The manga resumed in October 2021 in Akita Shoten’s Dokedemo Young Champion magazine. In November 2021, Akita Shoten published the manga’s eighth tankoubon volume, and in June 2022, the company began re-releasing the first seven volumes of the original manga.

Synecdoche also published a follow-up to the manga, Shin Elf-san wa Yaserarenai (Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping), in November 2021 in LINE Manga. Akita Shoten will release the manga’s third tankoubon volume on January 26th, 2024.
