Micro Magazine confirmed that the light novel series Nageki no Bourei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyou Party Ikusei-jutsu (Let This Grieving Soul Retire!) by Tsukikage and Chyko will be getting a TV anime adaptation in 2024. The news was revealed this week, along with the teaser video and teaser visual for the anime.

Takata Masahiro (High-Rise Invasion, The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) directs the anime at Zero-G studios. The anime will star Ono Kenshou as Krai Andrey and Kubota Miyu as Tino Shade.

Chyko and the novel’s manga adaptation artist, Hebino Rai, drew commemorative illustrations for the announcement.

Tsukikage started the story in January 2018 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and the story ended in December 2018. Micro Magazine published the first novel in print with illustrations by Chyko in August 2018, and the 11th novel will be released on February 29th, 2024. J-Novel Club released the third novel in English on January 16th, 2024.

The light novels series also inspired a manga adaptation by Hebino Rei in April 2019 in Kakokawa’s ComicWalker magazine. Kadokawa released the manga’s eighth tankoubon volume in August 2023 and will release the ninth volume on February 26th, 2024.
