This week, a new promotional video for the TV anime Maou 2099 (Demon Lord 2099) was released, and it confirms that the anime will premiere in Autumn 2024.

Ando Ryo (Double Decker! Doug & Kirill) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff Studio. The anime will star Hino Satoshi as Demon Lord Veltol, Itou Miko as Machina, and Hishikawa Hana as Takahashi.

The anime is based on the light novel series by author Murasaki Daigo (Dantoudai no Hanayome) and illustrator Kureta (Ishura, Ihoujin, Dungeon ni Moguru). Kadokawa released the first novel in the series in January 2021, and the third novel was published in June 2023.

The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Akashiro Kiiro, which was published on Kadokawa’s Shounen Ace+ website from November 2021 to June 2022. Hiroshi Sakurai created a second manga adaptation on the Shounen Ace+ website in March 2023. The first tankoubon volume of Hiroshi’s manga adaptation was released in October 2023, and the second volume will be published on March 26th, 2024.
